With reference to the correspondence noted in the margin, I have the honour to
address you again on the subject of the grat
of a site for the European Young Men's Christian Association.
The result of further consideration of the subject and of the advice of officers of Young Men's Christian Association Institutions in other parts of the world who have visited the Colony since my Despatch of the 10th. of May was written, is that the site at Kowloon is not considered to be altogether suitable for the Headquarters of a Young Llen's Christian Association for Europeans in this Colony.

The experience of all those who have bean connected with the management of Young Men's Christian Associations in other cities is that to ensure success the buildings must be situated in the chief business centre. Provision for accessories such as Lawn Termie Courts is a minor consideration. The buildings should be close to the offices where the men whose needs they are designed to serve, have to do their daily work.

Investigation has shown that the majority
